Spray-drying systems require precise control and coordination of numerous integrated elements to meet your exact powder requirements.
Manufacturers have been turning to Engineering Unlimited for 15 years to help design and deploy spray-dry systems for food and beverage, pharmaceutical and other industries. We’ve deployed successful spray dryers as small as 20 feet or 6 meters to dryers towering five stories high. We have experience with all aspects of the spray-drying process – including burner management, conveying, pumping and level, flow, pressure and temperature control – and have developed valuable relationships with OEMs that produce a variety of these subsystems.
Case Study: Blue River Dairy, a New Zealand-based producer of sheep-milk products, was looking to expand its product line with the addition of a powdered sheep’s milk. The company turned to Engineering Unlimited to help establish a new evaporation and spray-drying system at its existing cheese production factory.
Engineering Unlimited developed the plant’s electrical design and documentation, built the control panels, and provided PLC and HMI programming for the evaporation and drying processes. Engineering Unlimited engineers also worked on-site to support electrical checkout, instrumentation setup and commissioning.
